La Grande Orange Pizzeria and Grocery : Slice of Heaven Baked to Perfection

Virtually every small town, city, village or burg has its own slice of heaven, a favorite local pizzeria, mom & pop pizza joint, major chain or street vendor to grab a slice or share a pie. Whether you are dining in, carrying out or having it delivered it’s astonishing how much Americans love the taste of pizza, bordering on obsessive and psychotic (guilty as charge!). The obsession for a good slice is justified when you are on the quest for the best pizza and left to deal with crushing disappointments. Case in point, pizza where you couldn’t taste the difference between the crust and the cardboard box. VERDE : Authentic Mexican Fine Food Fast

If you are like us then you probably take food very seriously. One of our favorite types of cuisine is Mexican (for which we have a love affair) and we are passionate about eating it. With the recent Twitter buzz of Verde’s grande opening we knew our growling bellies had to make an appearance. If you are looking to scratch a Mexican food itch then Verde, your Mexican meal ticket is one place we would recommend. Just take our satisfied bellies word for it! The food is fresh, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is no frills, no-nonsense just good food fast. Verde proves that you don’t have to cross the Mexican border to enjoy authentic Mexican fare (no American influence here!).

This casual, hip, green, easy going, neighborhood and family friendly Mexican eatery is located in a renovated 1930′s building in downtown Phoenix, AZ (the mecca for some of the best dining). Upon arriving at the restaurant we were immediately hypnotized by the colorful edgy graffiti mural on the side of the building, no this was not the work of vandal’s. But a commissioned work of art, artfully crafted using spray paint and the building as the bare canvas. Local graffiti artist Dose was given permission to the paint the town, or in this case the side of the restaurant. How cool! With stomachs rumbling we managed to delay our lunch for a few minutes (that was stretching it!) to steal a photo opt of the mural before heading in side for a bite to eat.
