After a long day at the Old Town Farmer’s Market last Saturday we were in the mood for a relaxing, laid back and delicious lunch. So, we sought a dining suggestion from a local, avid, neighborhood foodie who did not steer us in the wrong direction. A gem located in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, Arcadia Farms Cafe & Wine Bar is a house turned country cottage eatery and contains intimate indoor dining and outdoor patio seating. This chic restaurant is a popular breakfast and lunch spot for locals and offers divine upscale dining at affordable prices. Beloved for its quaint, casual, elegant, inviting cottage and garden atmosphere this restaurant has solidified a special place in our hearts. Ladies you may be tempted to break out your casual floral dresses and festive hats. If you have never dined at Arcadia Farms Cafe & Wine Bar please accept this blog post as a personal invitation.
When we arrived we immediately felt a sense of serenity and calm. As smiling and talkative couples, families, friends and ladies who lunch chatted over a cup of tea, glass of wine, their famous Strawberry Chicken salad (grilled chicken, vine-ripened strawberries, toasted almonds, mixed baby greens and poppyseed vinaigrette) and scrumptious scones on the front patio. From where we were standing we can see why Arcadia Farms Cafe was touted as the quintessential dine spot for ladies who love to eat (we second that notion). This is definitely a lovely place to come with girlfriends to catch up on life or get reacquainted. But boys don’t be shy this restaurant is no longer just for the ladies who lunch crowd.
Ample seating, garden chairs, vibrant floral baskets add to the cottage charm and makes you feel right at home and at ease. Upon entering the restaurant our eyes were immediately enticed by the delectable indulgent pastries on display which transported us to a Parisian pastry shop in the French country side. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! A plethora of desserts and savories including coffee cakes, cookies, brownies, croissants, cakes, pies, muffins, bear claws, sticky buns, scones are kind enough to grace the menu. Baked daily in their on-site bakery to ensure freshness and flavor.
As you enter the restaurant contemporary elegance is beautifully anchored by flowers, trees, linens, French country decor, planters and stone garden statues which set the stage for the culinary delights to come. The restaurant seduces you with an appetizing and innovative comfort food menu, approachable wines and cozy shabby-chic décor. Not stuffy, not boring, justcas playful and chic! Its country-cottage interior is charming, eclectic, with simple floral arrangements perched on linen-covered tables and comfy garden chairs enhances the intimate culinary experience.
All you Arizonians would agree that there’s nothing better than dining al fresco. We did not want to waste such a beautiful Arizona afternoon dining indoors. So we decided to dine out on their preferred serene garden patio to enjoy the Arizona sunshine and fresh air. The back patio provided a warm, cozy, charming garden setting with relaxed yet elegant ambiance that felt like a transplanted French courtyard.
As we were escorted to our table we witnessed many private birthday celebrations, showers, and other special events harmoniously and effortlessly come alive before our eyes in their own intimate dining alcoves. If you are looking to host any special event or gathering large or small then you’ve come to the right place. You can entertain your guest in one of their themed private dining spaces. Celebrate with family and friends in their Bungalow, Cottage, Wine Room or Hacienda dining venue. The un-intimidating menu and sweetly intimate atmosphere makes Arcadia Farms Cafe perfect for any special occasion, most notably baby showers and ladies brunch meet ups. I have already decided that this would be the perfect place for me to host my future baby shower, sorry mom no news yet!
Our table was elegantly dressed in white linens and stationed underneath a shaded canopy as beautiful trees hovered and provided extra shade and intimacy. Birds chirping in the background, swooping and flying overhead watching for falling crumbs just added to the whimsical garden ambiance. Not to mention it provided entertainment as we waited for our meals. The server was kind, attentive and pleasant and brought us out a complimentary bread basket sourced from local artisans. With hungry little birds perched over our shoulders we indulged them with a few bread crumbs.
Aside from the splendid atmosphere, Arcadia Farms Cafe is know for its array of contemporary American cuisine which made us leap with anticipation for the meal to come. Now on to the hard part deciding what to order! The delicious and impressive menu includes Arcadia Farms Cafe classic specialty dishes, appetizers, fresh salads, hearty gourmet sandwiches and handmade desserts. Everything on their menu is made with local, organic, pesticide and hormone free ingredients.
The food was just as amazing as the atmosphere. For an appetizer we tried their trio of bruschetta — smoked salmon, tomato-basil and mozzarella; and prosciutto, arugula and goat cheese.
Adam tried their Arcadia Farms Cafe signature classic chicken, wild mushroom and leek crepes made with roasted chicken, wild mushrooms, sauteed leeks, goat cheese, basil cream sauce, basil oil drizzle and herb salad. The crepe was so savory and sinfully delicious that we wished for seconds to magically appear on the plate. What really made this a stand out dish was the basil cream sauce which made our taste buds scream “Wow!” tempted us to lick the plate clean. Don’t worry we practiced some restraint by showing good table manners, enlisting the help of our spoons to do our dirty work!
While I had the pleasure of dining on one of their famous gourmet sandwiches the herb roasted chicken. Made with slow-roasted chicken, oven-cured tomatoes, roasted artichokes, baby spinach and herb goat cheese spread on a warm crispy baguette. As a side dish I ordered a bowl of their featured soup de jour an amazing, lovely pureed, creamy and smooth butter nut squash.

Strawberry and chicken? wow I never thought these two food would mixed up perfectly by the way you describe it. I will surely visit this restaurant if by any chance I'll go near the place. Thanks for the recommendation
